Our Impact

I use the light around the clock. One day's charge lasts us hours, and we don't have to rely on emergency lights that depend on on-grid electricity for charging. My daughter uses it for her studies, and I use it in the kitchen for cooking. We have the fan as well, which keeps us cool in this weather. They are very useful products that helps us cut our electricity bills as well. I have purchased the Nowa UNO-50 from CEIP, a portable solar light that can be carried around the house at ease. The most use I get out of it is in the kitchen, when I am cooking for my family, as I no longer need a Kerosine Lamp, which I know is hazardous for the health.

We have used the loan money to construct our first floor for rent. It is a complete one-bedroom portion, with kitchen, and a TV lounge. At the moment we have rented the portion for Rs. 8000 to a family and our installment is Rs. 8,600, but this is still a very profitable investment, as it has added value to our house, and we one have a few months left of the installments after which we will be keeping the entire rent for our consumption.

I have taken Rs. 150,000 from CEIP for the construction of the upper two floors of my house. I have constructed 2 rooms on each floor from the loan money and my previous savings, and have rented it off at Rs. 5000 per room. My monthly loan instalment is at 8,600, and the rest is my savings, which I have used to buy various things around the house. This loan has helped me improve my house along with increasing our household income.
